Usha Venkatesh has almost two decades of work experience in being an entrepreneur, a corporate leader and in academia. Her last decade saw her starting a boutique Search firm ‘Talent Board’ specialising in hiring at CXO and leadership level. In her earlier career stint, she held several roles into business development, marketing and corporate strategy in financial and Automation sectors. She took a gap of ten years from corporate work to being a full-time mom and a defence officer’s wife. She spent this time in contributing to the welfare activities and being a guest faculty in colleges that were available in their area of posting.

Talent Board created a niche for itself in critical and diversity hiring and was trusted advisor to their clients in this space. In a short time, they build a marquee list of clients with their unique Search Methodology, focussed and consulting approach to each talent requirement, and an agile TAT. Usha’s personal ability to go beyond the resume, discover the individual story and coach her senior candidates resulted in several successful talent-fits at leadership level. She values authenticity, integrity, professionalism and continuous learning and imbibes the same in herself. For her own in-house team, she hired raw talent, trained and coached them to create a motivated and high performing team.

Usha recently ventured into business/HR consulting for some of her SME clients which had manpower strength of 25 and less. She has developed HR processes for recruitment, succession planning and performance management for them. She has also executed several behavioural and skill training assignments. Some of her senior candidates who have ventured into their own start-ups reach out to her for their crucial talent decisions as well as seed funding and she actively supports them as an advisor. With her vast network and working relationships, she is a connector and a collaborator.

Her years of experience, leadership competencies, and critical thinking are some of the differentiators that she brings to her Role as a Coach. Her coaching style employs ‘reflective thinking’, ‘empathetic questioning’, ‘challenging your beliefs’ and Un/Re-learning’ that leads you to a path of self-discovery for achieving your goals. She is currently on the path to acquire her certification from ICF. Her current project is to collaborate with other practitioners and create a platform to design, execute and provide bespoke services in HR domain.

Usha Venkatesh is a graduate in Sciences and an MBA from Bharatidasan Institute of Management. In her free-time she is an avid reader, a book-club enthusiast, pro-bono coaching and doing her bit to make a better society around her.
